I absolutely love Greenstyle Girl’s Upton shorts/Capri. I tested this pattern with custom knit, Joann’s knit and Joann’s cotton woven. when using Cotton you do not need to size up, it has a very generous leg width to it. My littlest modeled the XXS size she normal wears 9m and has a 18 inch waist. I did have to shorten the length on the shorts to fit her short chubby thighs better, and the capri length was more of a pants length for her. My nieces modeled the XS size they normally fit 3t/4t sizes they are 19 1/2 waist. The shorts fit perfectly but the capri’s were a tad long even with a inch taken off and a inch folded to make the hem of the capri’s. With this pattern if you lengthen the shorts you can use them for boys which my boys have a couple now. My hippo fabric is from Fabric Stache it was their mystery round
Lil shits Poly Knit and Cotton/Lycra blend knit, minimal shrinkage, slightly faded in the black on the shorts, none on the diaper, no fading to the shit piles, great stretch and recovery. Sews beautifully, used maxaloones pattern size 1 and altered it to make shorts. The Hybrid diaper I used the poly knit which will handle continues washes better.
I love this fabric Glactic Eden and Coordinating stripes are a must to have. I had minimal shrinking about 1/2 inch both there was no fading and color catcher came out still white. I love how I don’t have to use a walking foot with this fabric it has a nice weight to it. To access this fabric go to https://www.facebook.com/groups/AquaSplashCustoms/ the preorder closed July 5th look for retail in 6-8wks.The Cami and Thondlewear pattern can be located at https://www.etsy.com/shop/StitchUponaTime. their patterns are so easy to read and sew, I own almost all of their patterns.
I was chosen to test this wonderful swimsuit drawn up by Julia. I did the 12m pamper size with no alterations to it except using FOE . I used babyville FOE on the top instead of regular braided elastic. I do advise sizing up or printing it a tad larger for chunky thighs and Buda bellies. Julia has released this pattern as of 7/10/15 she is having it 20% off this weekend only Code retro. Julia’s Tutorial is a must for new sewers or someone that has never sewn a swimming suit it is included when you purchase it. https://www.etsy.com/listing/240055536/retro-ruffle-swimsuit-pdf-by-julia-faye?ref=shop_home_feat_1
This is my very first blog ever. I am a advid sewer and am addicted to custom fabric. I will write reviews on patterns and different custom group fabrics. I am a SAHM of 3 wonderfully rotten kids. My oldest is 4 and thinks he needs to help me with sewing and picture taking. My middle kid is almost 2 and he is glued to my butt. My youngest is 6m and she is a very mouthy booby baby and she thinks she can type 🙂 so if I have random letters thrown into my blog its from her.
